KWC Partner with Council to Promote the Change Fund - Ending Violence Against Women & Girls
Kilcooley Women’s Centre Joins Forces to Deliver the Momentum Programme: A Collective Effort to End Violence Against Women and Girls
At Kilcooley Women’s Centre, we are proud to announce our partnership with five local organisations and Ards North Down Borough Council to deliver the Momentum Programme, a transformative initiative aimed at equipping local organisations to participate in the Change Fund. This fund is part of The Executive Office NI’s ambitious programme to End Violence Against Women and Girls (EVAWG). Together, we are committed to creating a safer, more equitable society where women and girls can live free from fear and abuse.
The Momentum Programme is a call to action for communities, organisations, and individuals to work collaboratively across sectors to address the root causes of domestic abuse and gender-based violence. By developing partnerships and sharing expertise, we aim to build a coordinated response that ensures everyone plays their part in ending these pervasive issues.
As part of this initiative, Kilcooley Women’s Centre will be attending four key information and support events throughout January, February, and March. These events will provide valuable insights, resources, and networking opportunities to help organisations better understand their role in the EVAWG agenda and how to effectively engage with the Change Fund.
One of the highlights of the Momentum Programme is the Business Breakfast on 4 February, in Clandeboye Hotel which will bring together leaders from across sectors—business, community, education, and government—to discuss how we can collectively tackle domestic abuse and violence against women and girls. This event will emphasise the importance of cross-sector collaboration and inspire innovative approaches to creating lasting change.
At Kilcooley Women’s Centre, we believe that ending violence against women and girls requires a united effort. By joining the Momentum Programme, we are taking a proactive step towards empowering our community, raising awareness, and ensuring that survivors of abuse have access to the support and resources they need. The resources made available in the Change fund will be transformative in the approach across Ards and North Down.
We invite everyone in the community to join us in this vital mission. Together, we can create a future where women and girls are safe, respected, and free to thrive. Stay tuned for updates on our involvement in the Momentum Programme and how you can get involved.
Let’s work together to end violence against women and girls—because every woman and girl deserves to live a life free from fear.Workshop details below | Light lunch provided
