Welcoming Gavin Robinson MP to Kilcooley Women’s Centre
We were delighted to welcome Gavin Robinson MP to Kilcooley Women’s Centre, joined by Stephen Dunne MLA and Peter Martin MLA, for a visit that highlighted both the challenges and the positive work happening within our community.
The visit provided an opportunity to discuss key issues affecting local people, including the importance of early years provision, the need for sustained investment in PUL communities, and ongoing efforts to tackle poverty. These conversations are vital in ensuring that the voices and experiences of our community continue to be heard and reflected in decision-making.
Alongside these important discussions, the visit also captured the spirit of Kilcooley Women’s Centre. Gavin took time to meet participants, sharing some light-hearted moments with our talented Crafty Ladies and even joining in with our Ukulele group—bringing a bit of fun and energy to a busy Friday afternoon.
At KWC, we are proud to create a welcoming, supportive space where people can connect, learn and thrive. Visits like this help shine a light on the impact of our work and the importance of continued support for community-led initiatives.
We thank Gavin, Stephen and Peter for taking the time to visit and engage with our participants—we look forward to continuing the conversation.
