Heritage Crafts at The Old Market House: Floriography

Get creative with flowers with this special Heritage Crafts class, part of our Eastside Lives Bangor programme at The Old Market House.

The language of flowers has been used for hundreds of years to express love, sorrow and many other emotions – red roses symbolising love are still given on St Valentine’s Day for instance. Floriography draws on this tradition, using dried flowers to create beautiful art pieces – perfect for home decor or as gifts for loved ones.

This special Floriography Workshop will tell you about about the history of this lovely craft and will teach you how to make your own framed flower art piece. Join us on Wednesday 13th November from 1pm – 3pm at The Old Market House and learn all about it.

This class is suitable for all levels of experience and ability. All materials and guidance will be provided. Please note there is a £5.00 surcharge for the supply of glass frames to display your finished piece.

🌟 What to expect:

  • Introduction to the history and craft of Floriography
  • Supportive guidance from our talented instructor
  • Hands-on projects tailored to all skill levels
  • A friendly and supportive environment in the historic setting of The Old Market House
  • Free tea, coffee and refreshments
