Reuse and repurpose old textiles and clothes with this special Heritage Crafts class, part of our Eastside Lives Bangor programme at The Old Market House.

Our Victorian ancestors were very thrifty and were masters of the art of reusing scraps of fabric and old clothes, transforming them into new household items including rugs, pot holders and placemats.  Nowadays we all know how important recycling and zero waste is and this class will show you how to turn your old and unwanted clothes into a practical and pretty textile pieces. A perfect way of using up old t-shirts or repurposing outgrown baby clothes into some new and useful.

Our Rag Rug Making Workshop will tell you all about the history of this craft and will teach you how to make your own rag rug piece. Join us on Wednesday 27th November from 1pm – 3pm at The Old Market House and learn all about it.

 This class is suitable for all levels of experience and ability. All guidance will be provided but please bring along a selection of fabric and old clothes to make your own unique item.
