Celebrating the 80th Anniversary of VE Day: Kilcooley Women’s Centre Honours the Past, Inspires the Future

As we approach the 80th anniversary of VE Day (Victory in Europe Day) on May 8, 2025, the Kilcooley Women’s Centre is proud to announce a series of special events to commemorate this historic milestone. What’s Happening?

Our VE Day celebrations will include a range of events designed to engage people of all ages and backgrounds:

1. 1940s-Themed Tea Party:
   Step back in time with a traditional tea party featuring wartime recipes, vintage décor, and music from the era. Dress in your best 1940s attire and enjoy an afternoon of nostalgia and camaraderie

2. Music and Dance Performances:
   Enjoy live performances of 1940s classics, swing dance demonstrations, and community sing-alongs. Let the music of the era transport you to a time of hope and celebration.

3. Family-Friendly Activities:
   From craft workshops to storytelling sessions, there will be plenty of activities for children and families to enjoy together.
