On the 19^th May 2021 we received a Royal visit from HRH The Duchess of Cornwall. It was a special day as our CEO Alison Blayney also received her BME medal, presented by the Lord Lieutenant at our Kilcooley Offices, for her extensive services within the community- a very well deserved accreditation.

HRH spent time meeting with staff and volunteers and was keen to learn more about services offered within the centre to support women within the Ards and North Down Area. The Duchess of Cornwall also spent some time meeting with Camilla Club participants who had previously sent her a letter to tell her about their book club that followed her own reading list.

The ladies presented her with a keepsake bookmark and a copy of their most recently read book ‘The Midnight Library’ and following this she unveiled a plaque to commemorate the visit.

It was a fantastic day in every way and we are very appreciative that The Duchess of Cornwall took time out to visit the ladies and the centre.
