POSTPONED TO NEW DATE OF 22ND JANUARY 2025

Learn how to make your own woven textile pieces with this special Heritage Crafts class, part of our Eastside Lives Bangor programme at The Old Market House.

The weaving of fabric is one of the oldest crafts, practiced for thousands of years. Weaving was at the heart of the industrial revolution with its huge looms and mechanised production. By contrast, card weaving is carried out with the simplest of equipment, just a piece of cardboard and the thread to be woven. Following simple techniques you will be able to make your own unique woven pieces of fabric – perfect for placemats, table settings and gifts.

This Card Weaving Workshop will give you an insight into the history of this craft and will give you the knowledge you need to make your own woven items. Join us on Wednesday 4th December from 1pm – 3pm at The Old Market House and learn all about it.

This class is suitable for all levels of experience and ability. All guidance and materials will be provided.
