HOOKED ON CROCHET - INTERGENERATIONAL CLASSES
INTERGENERATIONAL CROCHET CLUB
We’re delighted to announce the start of our new crochet class, beginning on 11th November from 6pm 8pm – held in the Old Market House in Bangor !
Whether you’re a seasoned crocheter or a complete beginner, this class offers the perfect opportunity to learn a new skill while enhancing your wellbeing. Additionally each adult can bring a child with them, to encourage the preservation of this heritage wool craft.
Crochet is more than just crafting—it’s a form of therapy. The repetitive motion of working with yarn and the creativity involved in making something beautiful provide a calming effect, reducing stress and promoting relaxation. The simple act of creating something with your hands can be meditative, offering a moment to pause and focus away from the stresses of daily life.
But our crochet class is not just about the craft itself; it’s about the connection. We all know that spending time with others and sharing a common interest can lift our spirits and build a sense of belonging. The class will provide a welcoming space for everyone to chat, share stories, and form new friendships while working on crochet projects. This social interaction plays a vital role in enhancing wellbeing, combatting loneliness, and building a strong, supportive community.
No prior experience is needed—just bring yourself, and we’ll supply the rest! Our friendly facilitator and crochet expert will guide you through the basics of crochet, offering tips and techniques to help you create your first project. All materials are provided, and participants can look forward to making everything from simple coasters to cozy scarves.
So, come along, unwind, and enjoy the therapeutic benefits of crochet. It’s time to stitch some happiness into your day! Join us every week from 11th November and let’s crochet our way to wellbeing together.
