Christmas Family Festival – A Magical Day for Bangor
The Old Market House was bursting with festive spirit on Saturday as more than 2,800 people — children, families, neighbours, and friends — came together for our Christmas Family Festival. The afternoon was packed with activities, excitement, and plenty of Christmas cheer as we built up to the big switch-on.
There was something for everyone: face painting, caricatures, our festive photo frame, Kandy Kane Lane, arts and crafts, ballots, lucky draws, and plenty of winter warmers like mulled wine and hot chocolate. The site was buzzing from start to finish.
Our live entertainment was just as special. DJ William kept the atmosphere upbeat, while the beautiful sounds of the Bangor Harp Angels and the uplifting voices of the Songbirds community choir added that perfect Christmas touch.
The day ran smoothly thanks to our fabulous host Kelly Kandy Kane, supported by Santa and Mrs Claus, who stole the show as always. A big thank you also goes to the PSNI Bangor Team for safely escorting Santa to The Old Market House.
Most of all, we want to thank every single person and every child who came along. Your excitement, energy, and support are what make this event so special every year. Seeing the joy on the children’s faces made all the weeks of planning truly worth it.
And speaking of planning — a massive shoutout to the TEAM at Gifted and the Kilcooley & Ards North Down Women’s Centre. Staff, Board, and Volunteers worked tirelessly for weeks to make this event unforgettable.
Thank you for making this a magical start to Christmas in Bangor.
Here’s to an amazing festive season ahead! 🎄✨
